Education is an ornament in prosperity and a refuge in adversity.

At SPHOORTI, we strive to provide access to quality education - in school as well as outside. Education is not limited to schooling, passing examinations and jumping to higher grades. We impart discipline, soft skills, lessons from life experiences, and spiritual education.

Children studying in STD I and above attend a nearby English medium private school - Vignan Scientific School which is about a kilometer away from the Home. Children in Kindergarten attend Holy Child Preparatory school nearby.

In the morning, elder children wake up around 5.30 am and quickly revise their lessons before getting ready for school.. After returning from school, children spend around 2-3 hours on their homework assignments and studying their subjects.

We have an in-house mentorship system - the younger children are monitored and, when necessary, tutored by their elder brothers and sisters. Some of the children who have not fared well in school examinations are sent to after-school tuition classes. The younger kids are given assignments on improving their handwriting, alphabet and numbers and drawing.

Besides school education, we teach kids discipline and personality development. We focus on behavioral traits - behaving with peers, with elders and visitors, in school and outdoors. We build camaraderie among children by assigning them tasks and encouraging them to work in teams. As children grow up, we will concentrate more on soft skills and personality development. Currently, children practise meditation twice a day for 10 min.

Some of our friends give tips on drawing and painting and some teach new dance steps. We intend to teach classical dance and music to some children who have the talent and interest.

We will provide every possible opportunity, preferably professional education, to all our children. Our entire efforts in providing quality primary and secondary education and emphasis on personality development are directed towards creating responsible citizens for INDIA.
