SPHOORTI FOUNDATION is a registered Charitable Trust (NGO) based in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh under the AP Registrations Act, Sec 12(A) and Sec 80(G) under the Income Tax Act. We started SPHOORTI Children's Home near Cherlapally, Hyderabad in August 2006 with three children and two caretakers. Since August 2008, we have been running two separate homes for boys and girls.

We admit children falling into the following categories:
1) Children who have lost at least one parent
2) Children from poverty-stricken families
3) Children of physically/mentally challenged parents
4) Children of families ravaged by HIV/AIDS
5) Children of sex workers (click here for the Dommara Rehab initiative)

We currently have 108 children in the age group 5-13. In addition, we provide educational scholarships for 25 children from poverty-stricken families.

Donations made to Sphoorti Foundation are exempt under section 80G of the Income Tax Act, 1961.
